INWO Card Replacement Policy updated 2-28-95 Bad cards happen. It's a fact of life. If you get a misprinted or mis-cut card, we'll try to make good. We'll send you a replacement, under the conditions explained below. We'll do our best to make it the same card. Unfortunately, it's also a fact of life that the "trading card game phenomenon" has attracted professional speculators, even counterfeiters. Therefore, we can't offer replacements for damage that "merely" affects mint-condition collectibility, or for damage that could obviously have happened after purchase. Mis-Cuts These are cards that the printers cut wrong. We will replace mis-cuts only if some words actually go off the edge of the card. We will not replace a card just because it is not 100% perfectly centered; for instance, if the control arrows aren't quite complete, that's not enough to qualify for a replacement. Misprints If a card has a serious printing flaw, we'll replace it. Little dots of ink, or little white spots, are not a serious flaw unless there are a LOT of them. Big smudges are a flaw. Physical Damage We really can't offer to replace cards with physical damage, because we can't distinguish "real" damage from cards that were worn or damaged after purchase. The exception is "tire track" damage, indentations across the top or bottom of one or more cards in a Booster Pack. It's caused by the device that seals the Booster Packs. It's obvious and unmistakable, and we will replace such cards. Please don't buy a POP, Starter Set or Booster Pack that shows obvious damage on the outside. If the pack is folded before you buy it, for instance, it's a good bet the cards are hurt too. And if a Starter Set POP is missing even one set, it will be obvious before it's opened - don't buy it! Tell the dealer to return it!! Dealers can return damaged packs, UNOPENED, through their distributors. If you're a dealer, talk to your distributor for more information. We will make good on all damaged packs returned BY DISTRIBUTORS to SJ Games within our distributor guidelines. We cannot promise pack-for-pack replacement, because the Limited Edition is sold out, but we will make a fair refund or restitution! Distribution If you think you got the "wrong" cards in a pack . . . we're sorry, but we can't do anything about that. There's no way we can verify what was in the pack before it was opened, and we DO NOT guarantee that every single pack has the average intended distribution of cards . . . it's a goal, not a promise. We had an observer at the plant during assembly; we're satisfied that they did a good job with card distribution. Murphy's Law says that an occasional pack may be funny, but after it's opened, what can we do? That's one reason we dropped extra Rares in some booster packs - to make the overall amount of "good" luck exceed the bad. Misprinted Cards in Tournaments Misprinted or mis-cut cards are tournament-legal, unless the problem actually makes the card identifiable from the back. In that case, it's a "marked card" and not legal. The tournament referee's decision is final. In the weird and unlikely event that a card's face does not match its back, it is not tournament-legal. (We have not seen any examples of this, but we have now heard of one that supposedly exists, and it is a theoretically possible printing error.) How To Get A Replacement Send us the bad card(s), along with a stamped self-addressed envelope (or an International Reply Coupon if you're outside the US). REPEAT: Send us the bad card(s) and a STAMPED, SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE. We will regretfully toss out any request that comes without a SASE! (Put a single 32-cent stamp on your SASE. If, Eris forbid, you return more bad cards than a 32-cent stamp covers, we'll ADD POSTAGE. But the addressing on the return envelope, and the first stamp on it, are YOUR responsibility. So write clearly.) We will keep the bad card you send us, and send a replacement. If we can replace your bad card with the same thing, we will. If not, we'll replace it with something of the same or greater rarity. If you are returning a Rare, feel free to include a list of what you hope NOT to get as a replacement, but we can't make any promises, because our own supplies are limited. If your card isn't bad, according to the guidelines above, we'll have to send it back to you. Note: Our offer to replace bad INWO Limited Edition cards is, itself, limited. We will replace bad cards only if they are received here by December 31, 1995 (so you have a year to open your packages). After that, we're sorry, but we can't keep a hoard of extras forever.
