Games for Kids and Parents
Follow the links to pages with detailed information about each game.
Several of our games are ideal for parents to play with their children. These have enough depth to stay interesting for adults . . . but the themes and gameplay are accessible to players as young as 8. If you want to share games with your kids, check these out!
(Remember: most games have dice and other pieces that should be kept away from children who are so young that they put things in their mouths!)
Meow! You play as a pet in Simon's Cat, a fast-paced card game for 3 to 6 players featuring adorable art taken directly from animator and illustrator Simon Tofield's hit YouTube series, Simon's Cat. Go around the table playing cards to escape Simon's attention. Get caught and you get Blame. Get too much Blame and you get fed last. No one wants that!
Munchkin Treasure Hunt is a fun boardgame for up to six players, ages 6 and up – now everyone in the family can be a munchkin! (Don't worry . . . you don't need to know how to play any other Munchkin game to enjoy Treasure Hunt.) Treasure Hunt comes with a board, two custom six-sided dice, 96 colorful cards, four blank cards (so you can write your own!), six character standies, and a rulesheet.
Munchkin Wonderland is for two to six players, ages 6 and up – so the whole family can join! Plus, you don't have to know how to play classic Munchkin to play; the rules are a little simpler, making it a great introduction to Munchkin for kids.
Cute. Cuddly. Sanity-blasting. Chibithulhu.
This soft and huggable plush figure features huge, adorable eyes, angel wings . . . and Cthulhu's trademark tentacles. It's made of all-new materials, and is machine washable.
Of course, this toy includes a special rule, which will help you during Munchkin Cthulhu games.
Available in different styles: deceptively tiny, insanely medium, and mind-crushingly huge!
It's Halloween – and you're a ghost who loves candy!
Haunt trick-or-treaters so they'll leave you their sugary treats – collect more than your spectral opponents, and you win! But don't scare the costumed kids too much, or they'll run away – and that means less candy for you!
Pay special attention to the kids' unique powers, too; each one is themed to their Halloween costume. May the savviest spook win!
The ghost, kid, and candy cards feature frighteningly adorable art. This is the cutest game you've ever played about a haunting! It's scary, fast-playing fun for three to six phantoms.
Welcome to the sport of the future – autoduelling! In Car Wars: The Card Game, killer cars battle with machine guns, missiles, autocannons, and flamethrowers. You're behind the wheel . . . and the last survivor wins.
This fast, fun game, based on Steve Jackson Games' award-winning Car Wars, is easy-to-learn and fast-playing, though the theme (battles between armed and armored cars) will not be right for every child.
Toon is the Cartoon Roleplaying Game. Play out the zaniest adventures you can imagine . . . but even if you get blown up with dynamite or squashed under a steamroller, nobody ever dies. Parents can act as the Animator (that is, the Game Master) and run their kids through cartoon hi-jinks.
The following games are out of print . . . that is, we are completely out, and have no current plans to reprint them. The best way to find a copy of an out-of-print game is to check eBay or contact a dealer in out-of-print games.
Become a Super-Villain in Gotham City! Can you escape the World's Greatest Detective?
The Joker, Catwoman, The Riddler, and Poison Ivy are pulling off elaborate heists to score as much loot as they can carry! Based on the award-winning TV show, Batman: The Animated Series™ Dice Game lets you become a Super-Villain in a press-your-luck game for the whole family. Roll the dice and take advantage of each villain's diabolical abilities to scheme your way to victory before getting busted by Batman™!
Battle Cattle: The Card Game is compatible with Car Wars: The Card Game and equally simple and fast-playing . . . since armed and armored cows are complete fantasy, parents may find this version less likely to give the kids the wrong idea about freeway etiquette.
Cowpoker lets two to four players become ranchers, rustling each others' cattle and hiring away each others' cowpokes. Recruit the wacky characters into your Ranch for points and bonuses, and collect them in tricks from the roundups and shootouts. Once all the cards are taken, make poker hands to score additional points! Every card can be used at least two different ways, so there's strategy as well as luck.
How many dinosaurs can you catch? Roll the Dino Hunt Dice and see!
Roll the dinosaur picture, and you caught him! If you get the leaf picture, the dino is hiding, and you can try again. If you get a footprint . . . you're STOMPED! Push your luck to catch as many as you can, but stop rolling before you're stomped three times, or you'll lose them all.
Dino Hunt Dice is a game for 3 to 8 players. Each game takes 10 to 20 minutes, and can be taught in a single round. Perfect for families and dinosaur lovers! This new dice game was inspired by the original Dino Hunt family game!
King's Blood is a fast-paced multi-player card game of dynasty building. Build the family tree by arranging marriages, exiling rivals, and crowning new royalty. Match a character with a compatible member of the opposite sex, and start a new generation. Play the last family member from your hand, and you've won!
King's Blood was originally published by Kadokawa Shoten in Japan. Steve Jackson Games was proud to offer the authorized English translation of this fast, fun game.
Spooks is a fast-playing party game. The first player to empty his hand escapes the haunted house . . . and the spooks get everybody else! Spooks is easy to learn, so kids will enjoy it too. You don't have to outrun the monsters . . . if you can outrun your friends.
X-Bugs is quick and fun . . . it's been called "tiddlywinks on crack." Yes, really. It combines luck, strategy, and skill . . . Your armies are microscopic mutated monsters, each represented by a plastic chip. Flip the chips to attack! Each bug has a special power . . . each army has a different strategy! Eat the enemy's bugs, destroy his bases, and win!
When Cthulhu eats your sanity, you're in trouble. But when he eats your dice, he'll give them back.
The Cthulhu Dice Bag is soft plush, with far more eyes, tentacles, and wings than any ordinary dice bag. He'll hold dozens of ordinary six-siders or non-Euclidean polyhedrons in his zippered pouch. Or, of course, Sanity tokens from Cthulhu Dice. Or cursed jewels, or gravel, or bus tokens, or all of them together. Just remember that to get them out, you have to put your hand inside Cthulhu. If you are okay with that, this is the perfect dice bag for you.
Cthulhu Dice Bag won the Origins Award for Best Hobby Game Accessory of 2010.
It's a 30" long Plush Tentacle that's posable. Why did we do it? Because Evil Stevie likes tentacles. And this one is soft, and furry.
Make it a fashion statement, poking out of your shirt. Use the loop in back to hang it from your belt. Put it in your next haunted house . . . or in your cubicle! Threaten your other plush toys, just to remind them who's the boss.
It's completely posable. Bend it to your own wicked will.
